Swansea Grand Theatre offer assisted performances on certain performances. Please contact Box Office for further details.
Certain performances will feature an Audio Described facility. This facility helps to make visual events accessible for blind and visually impaired patrons. As the action of the performance unfolds on the stage, a trained professional describer delivers a commentary and narration about what is happening. This guides the listener through the presentation with concise descriptions of entrances, exits, scene changes, costumes, body language and so on - this is all done in between portions of dialogue, not to overlap with the actors. The description is everything the sighted person takes for granted.
This service is relayed through infra-red headsets. Please contact a member of our Front of House team before the Audio performance commences.
For information on forthcoming Audio Described performances please contact Box Office on 01792 475715.
British Sign Language
BSL is a language in its own right, with its own grammar. Certain performances will have a BSL interpreter. This facility is offered to communicate with deaf or deafened people whose first language is/or are fluent in BSL.
The interpreter is usually located on the side of the stage, please inform box office if you require this service so that you can be seated appropriately.
For information on forthcoming sign interpreted performances please contact Box Office on 01792 475715.
